If we were to tell you about an organized youth baseball league, you might call it ordinary.

If we were to tell you the athletes are physically and mentally disabled, you might call it touching.

A beautiful Fall day was the backdrop for a fun-filled afternoon of Miracle League All-Star games and activities at Darree Fields. Special thanks to St. Brendan’s Knights of Columbus for serving food, Event Architecture Group for the flags, and Ohio Wesleyan’s Delta Gamma Sorority and all our buddies for making the 2011 World Series Games a great event!

The Night League

The Night League is a league for teenagers and adults that plays on Mondays and Thursdays from June through September. The league is more competitive than the Saturday league. The players use metal bats and do not have buddies. This is a fun league to watch!

Questions about the Night League? The director for the Night League is Connie Warner. She can be reached at 614-668-4002 or 740-965-4782.

Fundraising Efforts: As we head into a new year, we thought we should include a few words about fundraising and donations. The Miracle League is a 501C3 organization and is very dependent on donations for its operation. Although the League Director and Assistant Director receive modest compensation for their involvement, the vast majority of the people helping out before, during, and after the season are volunteers. Less than half of the League’s annual expenses are covered by player registration fees, so the League is heavily reliant on donations from individuals, businesses, and organizations.

If you would like to make a donation, you can send a check to the Central Ohio Miracle League, PO Box 1303, Dublin, OH 43017. If you know of an individual, company, or charitable organization that could assist the League, please contact us at ohiomiracleleague@yahoo.com.

Comments / Questions / Suggestions? These are always welcome at ohiomiracleleague@yahoo.com.
